Hello to all my friends and fans out there. It’s once again time bring you the scoop on all things Mitch Hayes Music. I hope this finds you all well, warm and surviving the winter chill.
The weather here in the Carolinas is crazy as it is want to be with alternating warm and cold days, lots of rain and the occasional mix of wintery precipitation. But I hear that old Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, thus predicting an early Spring. Now, there’s something to cheer about!
So, what’s happening in our world, you ask?
For starters, Erin and I are once again in Blu Bubble Studio, Charlotte, NC recording a new album with our amazing and talented producer, Eric Lovell. Currently the plan is to record an 8 song EP with an anticipated May 2019 release date. “A Long Way Home,” which is currently the working title of the project, will be a Mitch & Erin Hayes EP, so Erin will be featured heavily on vocals and flute. We will once again have some of North Carolina’s “Best of the Best” contributing their talents to the project. We’ve just finished laying down the “scratch tracks” for all the songs. Now the real fun begins, adding all the drums, bass, keyboards, etc., to flesh them out.
The track list, in no particular order as of yet is as follows: A Long Way Home, All The Same, Muse, Firewater, The Word is You, Grand Parade, Dealer’s Choice and Hole In The Sun. We plan to start a Patreon campaign to allow any of our friends and family who would like to do so, a chance to contribute to the project financially. We’ll be setting up some sort of tiered reward system for different levels of contribution, more on that later as we work out the details.
In other news, plans are coming together for a spring Texas Tour with the following dates confirmed:
May 24 – the Hyatt Regency Marker 10 Lounge, Austin
May 25 – SquareRut Kava Bar, Austin
May 26 -Homespun Kitchen, Dripping Springs
May 30 – Opening Bell Coffee, Dallas
May 31 – Old Town Wine House, Lewisville
June 1 – Old Town Brewhouse, Lewisville
June 2 – Kyrie Pub Church, Fort Worth.
We are still working on a couple more bookings and will pass the word on to you when they are confirmed.
I believe I have rambled on long enough, but I want to sincerely thank all of our friends and fans, our Mitch Hayes Music family for encouraging us with your support, coming out to our shows, buying our music, following us on social media. You are why we do what we do and we love and appreciate each and every one of you, so much!
