Hello, everyone! I apologize for not having sent out a newsletter in a while. Saying I’ve been busy would be an understatement, and not all of it had to do with the Mitch Hayes Music side of things. Moving forward, I’m back on track and there’s lots to tell you about. So, where to begin?
For Starters, after experiencing significant delays due to scheduling conflicts with the recording studio, we’re closing in on a release date for “A Long Way Home” and “Firewater”, our two newest singles. We’re hoping to do so, within the next few weeks. I’m truly excited and pleased with how the songs are sounding, as we “flesh them out” with all their parts, bass, drums, harmony vocals, etc. I can’t wait for everyone to get to hear them. We’re putting together a release strategy now and will let you know, in the near future, how and where you will be able to get your hands, or should I say ears, on them.
So, what’s been going on, you ask? Well, I had an amazing August and September, playing shows with two incredibly talented young songwriters, Kate Mills from NYC and Tara Dente, recording artist for Travianna Records, who hails from Asbury Park, NJ. I met and became friends with them while attending the SERFA conference in Chattanooga this past May. Kate came through while on tour in August and performed with me at Hop & Vine in Concord. Tara and I played together when she came to the area in September at Wired Coffee Espress in Kannapolis and at Rhino Marked & Deli in Charlotte. Both young ladies were a Smash Hit with the listeners! It was such great fun and I look forward to future collaborations with both Kate and Tara, which brings me to my next bit of news. Plans are in the works, this upcoming Fall, for a couple of short tours.
First, I’m proud to announce that I will be playing a six-show mini tour October 27 – November 2, in the North Carolina High Country, as part of the NC Songsmiths songwriter sessions. I’m proud to be working with this wonderful collective, to bring original music to audiences, everywhere. You can read all about them and find out when and where I will be performing by clicking the above hyperlink to their Facebook page and then scrolling down the page to see my tour. Or you can click on the schedule link on my website to find it, there.
Next, in mid-November I will be playing another mini tour, this time in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and hopefully NYC. I will be performing with Tara, in at least one of those shows. So excited! Booked so far, are shows at The Chubby Pickle and Water Witch Coffee, in Highlands NJ, a songwriter session at Café Artiste in the Jersey Shore Arts Center, in Ocean Grove, NJ and a songwriter session at John & Peter’s Place in New Hope PA. Doors are being knocked on in NYC, VA, and DC, as well. I’ll be sure to update you as things progress. As shows are confirmed, you will also find them posted on my website.
So, as you can see, lots has indeed been going on, and I’m not slowing down! As always, I look forward to seeing many of you at an upcoming show, and I thank you all for your continued support!
